My family and I worked with Susie to prepare a life celebration memorial for my mother.

From the beginning to the end Susie was professional, friendly, very personable and under such trying circumstances I found her to be very compassionate with a real empathy for the passing of mum and each one of our family members involved in the procedure.

Susie was simply wonderful. She guided us through this difficult process, was so naturally compassionate and for me the most important thing was that she completely captured the essence of my brother without having known him. She provided a thought provoking, reflective and healing celebration of my brother’s life.

Susie did a fantastic job of working with my sister and I to get a really good understanding of Mum, us, and what we needed for a really top notch send off for our mother, known as the Matriarch of the Pass. She surfed her first wave in 1965 on the Island of Jersey, right up until her 80th birthday where she surfed her last wave at her favourite place, The Pass.

Susie helped us to pull together a truly unique ceremony on the Pass beach, followed by a scattering of her ashes and a surfer’s paddle-out. Susie was excellent at getting the balance right about what a truly incredible woman she was, but also with her own challenges.

It was a fitting send off for an adventuring surfer-businesswoman trailblazer like our mother Maggi.

During one of the most challenging times in our lives, we were fortunate to have Susie as the memorial celebrant of our beloved Mother.

We had a wonderful experience with Susie, it was great when we reached out that she took the time to go through what we wanted to farewell our loved one.

She gave us some direction on how farewells can look and this allowed us to stay grounded and build a personalised farewell that will always be remembered. Susie took the time to come to the house and go through mums story and the connections and stories she had and we had as a family. She was diligent and took the time to reach out to family members that were not present at the meeting to ensure she got the whole story.

She was a grounding force on the day and allowed us to proceed in a structured way in saying our farewells. Would highly recommend.

Susie’s compassionate guidance and powerful words, enabled the congregation to be led along the path of genuine mourning, preceding acceptance. She encouraged us all to connect to the life that had been and to not only see the loss but also the lessons and learnings which that life created.

Susie’s honesty, understanding and acceptance was refreshing. No one ever wants to be planning a memorial service, in my case I was blessed to have the brave and compassionate Susie by my side.

Susie was an amazing celebrant at my beloved daughters service. She brought serenity to the room and her calm presence held the space beautifully. I was very distraught and traumatised after my daughters passing and Susie helped guide me and put a lot of special touches into the service making it very special for me and my family.

We met Susie in the most darkest of days. We had lost our newborn baby days prior, and found ourselves in a place we didn’t want to be. Planning our baby’s funeral, wasn’t how it was supposed to be. The thought of it was crippling. But then we met Susie.
 
Susie brought so much love and care into planning our little girl’s farewell. She brought in a team of people who made our ceremony by the beach simply perfect. Susie listened to our stories, our beliefs and our wishes and was able to translate into the most heartfelt ceremony. She took us on a journey to remember and celebrate Elke’s short little life, and managed to leave everyone feeling a little bit better than when they arrived.
 
Susie is a truly beautiful soul and we will be forever grateful that we found her. We trusted Susie implicitly to create a ceremony that honoured the love we had for our baby girl. She managed to turn the most tragic of events, into a day that will be forever etched into our memory as a day full of love and hope. Thank you Susie, we owe you so much.
